EURO 2008 is coming. 16 teams from European countries have successfully passed the preliminary round and will meet in the battle field of final round of EURO 2008. Not even taking the offer into consideration, the team straightforwardly rejected the bonus to show that they play not for money but rather for their country, said the captain Christian Chivu. Such a militancy becomes a non-technical capital for the team to meet France (on June9), winning World Cup once; Italy (on June 13), winning World Cup four times; and Netherlands (on June 17) which won EURO 1988.

Romanian soccer team’s success has started since the first World Cup in 1930. Romanian team was one of four teams that always performed in the first three World Cups besides Brazil, France and Belgium. This team then disappeared only until they appeared again in the World Cup 1970, 1990, 1994, 1998 and in EURO 1984, 1996 and 2000.

In EURO 2000, Romanian team could pass the deadly group consisting of three European soccer giants: German, British and Portuguese teams. “Learning from 2000, we have no fear to perform in this EURO 2008. We have passed to the final round and so we must see that this EURO 2008 is a real soccer feast for our country’s name” said Victor Piturca, the team coach.
