What can you expect from the Year of the Ox?

The grounded, rational, earth influence of the Ox may bring good fortune to troubled economic times but only with a sustained, well planned effort. The steady ox is quick to anger when confronted by what seems to be irrational opposition, but the use of reason works well and avoids a charge by the angry bull. There is much danger of war and unrest if diplomacy does not prevail.

The Ox year will benefit those who are hard working as the animal is a beast of burden. So do not try to push away responsibilities and duties if you do not want to experience any shortfall in fortune. Whatever it is that you do, 2009 is a time to consolidate and re-examine your goals and businesses. It is also a time to cut cost and wastage in order to maximise your output and productivity. Property prices may show positive movement initially, mainly at the start of the year. However, with the arrival of the Fire star towards September, situations may radically alter — the proverbial bubble may well burst. Hence, a long-term approach is the safest.

This year’s Earth Rat is a night Rat, and so theft, break-ins, burglary and crime may go up, along with more scandals of corporate greed and embezzlement.
