Have you ever thought of why children feel happier than adults? In fact, children laugh 300 times a day while adults just laugh 17 times a day. Why is it so different? Are adults too serious? Isn’t it the time we learn how to relax? Absolutely, we don’t stop laughing just because we grow older but we grow older because we stop laughing. How many times we laugh a day will show how happy we are.
According to research, laughter makes people healthier because it makes any negative thought and attitude disappear. Scientist also said that laughter is the best medicine and so they pointed it as the way to mind-body medicine. Laughter is identical to humor. As a matter of fact, humor is how we view the world. If we rarely or never laugh, it means that we view the world as a difficult and serious situation. But if we like humor so much it means we love this world and our life is colorful. We don’t need to act so seriously. Our five senses are not enough for ideal living. We need to use our sixth sense: sense of humor. Life will be so different if we fulfill it with a lot of laughter since laughter offers a lot of benefits to us.
When we have a face to face conversation, it will be better if we insert some jokes in it to promote laughter. Laughter does not only make people who laugh but also those who laugh with them feel better. At later stage, this will make our friendship stronger. According to a physiologist, a relationship without jokes will end miserably. It does happen to some of Americans nowadays. Most of Americans get divorced because they are lack of laughter. They find it difficult to cope with their marriage life. They tend to face every problem seriously.
In medical perception, laughter is very useful for it can recover heart disease. A study found that people with heart disease were 40% less likely to laugh in a variety of situations compared to people of the same age without heart disease. Another study also found that laughter is equivalent to a small amount of exercise. It massages all the organs of body. Therefore people who like laughing will feel healthier and even younger than others who hardly ever laugh.
In physiology, laughter disarms tension and stress. Laughter will also make positive emotional climate and a sense of connection between two people. Because of that, laughter can help us build relationship easily. People who like laughing will also feel acceptable in any condition. They never look others as challengers but they look them as friends. People who look others as challengers will be hard to socialize. That’s why, we need humor in friendship.
In conclusion, Laughter is the best way to enjoy the life. It will make us feel comfortable to live our life. We don’t have to think about growing older because laughter will make us look 10 times younger. So it isn’t too late to start laughing. There are so many ways to laugh; by watching a humorous video, reading comics or even remember our embarrassing moments. Let’s get the ball rolling then.
